Overall length 9.25". C75 Carbon steel clip point blade. Rosewood handle. Nail nick opening. Back lock. Nickel silver bolster(s). Made in Solingen Germany.
The Boker 20-21 is a true classic of the Solingen knife history and comes with a carbon steel blade and handle scales made from fine rosewood. Older generations in particular rely on the excellent edge retention of the carbon steel (non-stainless) blade and moreover, the blade is easy to sharpen. The fully handcrafted knife is made in the Boker Knife Manufactory Solingen and features a historic etched blade motif, nickel silver bolsters and a backlock. The Boker 20-21 has been convincing for generations on the hunt and in the wilderness.
NOTE: Rosewood is a natural material, and colour may vary. Each one is unique.
Carbon steel knives require extra care to prevent rusting and oxidation of the surface. Carbon steel knives should not be placed in a dishwasher or allowed to soak in a sink. After use we recommend cleaning the blade with a damp sponge or cloth and dry thoroughly. Some people go a step further and apply a light coating of vegetable oil to the blade’s surface. If your blade shows signs of rust, use some steel wool to remove it and then apply some oil to the blade. To keep the blade razor sharp, use a honing, or sharpening, steel. After some use, the steel blade will develop a patina, a darkening which is desirable and an indication of its age.
The history of Boker can be traced back to the 17th century. In the 1800’s the German tool maker was producing swords and other blades for use in the various wars that were going on in Europe at the time. In the1860’s the company had split with part of the family emigrating and setting up factories in America. The German and American factories produced similar products. Both used the “Tree Brand” logo. The “Tree Brand” logo represents the giant chestnut tree that was at the front of the original Boker factory in Remscheid, Germany in the 17th century.
