Our Reviews

Every day, all the time.

To start with, Initial impressions were that it was quite small for the cost of this knife, and mine isn't carbon fibre, but green aluminium with titanium spacers. Those look cool. I started carrying it everyday, I had a slightly better looking Spanish folding knife, almost exactly the same size, with deer antler scales, and in the wonderful Molybdenum vanadium steel, (that the Spanish seem to use a lot for all sorts of knives), that stays razor sharp, but the 940 kept growing on me. It was thinner, but still solid in the hand, lighter (slightly), but still felt strong enough to complete everyday tasks, the pocket clip just worked, never an issue taking it out, or clipping it back in the pocket. It was always secure, staying in my pocket regardless of what I was doing. And that Axis lock, man is it good. It took a little bit of practise to manipulate it competently, but now I reckon it's almost as fast as a good automatic, which I can't own here anyway. People are always surprised by how fast it can be opened, AND shut. Most people assume it's an automatic. It's also definitely the best most secure lock up of any folding knife I've used. It's a quantum leap forwards in locking mechanisms, even over a liner lock. I've seen a failure in a decent liner lock, but I reckon you would destroy the knife before the axis lock failed. I've had it over 5 years, and I use it every single day for all sorts of tasks, and the blade shape is extremely versatile for different uses. Other than slight wear to the handle (very slight), there is no sign of wear, or that it's been used every day for years. The opening mechanism works perfectly, Yes I've cleaned and oiled the pivot occasionally, but after thousands of openings there is absolutely no sign of play. The only slight downside has been that I've had to sharpen it a couple of times a year, but it sharpens easily, and realistically I think only my blades in 3V, and maybe Sleipner and Bohler M390 have kept their edge better, but they're buggers to sharpen because of their hardness, so I don't use them as much, and they're fixed blades I use for heavy work that I wouldn't use a folding knife for. I've got a big knife collection, and some fabulous exotic steels to choose from, but the Osbourne is the only knife that lives in my pocket, always, and probably always will. It's obviously been designed by someone who has a complete understanding of what an EDC should be. There's nothing on it that shouldn't be there, and every part just works, and works, and probably will for the rest of my life if I look after it.

One of the best knives I own

I have had this in my collection for about two years, it makes it into my everyday carry at least three times a week.
