The hand axe boasts a straight cutting edge with a convex grind, providing exceptional sharpness and cutting performance. Its head is crafted from advanced hardened carbon steel, ensuring durability and longevity. The sturdy handle is made from Ashwood and treated with linseed oil and wax for enhanced strength and a comfortable grip. The AX1 bushcraft hatchet model includes a sheath made from high quality cowhide leather, complete with a belt loop for added safety and convenience.
Note: As a natural material, each wooden handle is unique. Oil the handle occasionally to preserve the long life of your knife.
Carbon Steel Blade Care: Please note that this knife is made with carbon steel, not stainless steel. Carbon steel blades require extra care to prevent rusting and oxidation of the surface. Carbon steel blades should not be placed in a dishwasher or allowed to soak in water. After use we recommend cleaning the blade and dry thoroughly. You may apply a light coating of oil to the blade’s surface. If your blade shows signs of rust, use some steel wool to remove it and then apply some oil to the blade. To keep the blade razor sharp, use a honing, or sharpening, steel. After some use, the carbon steel blade will develop a patina, a colour/darkening which is desirable and an indication of its age.
