The Old Bear range of folding knives from Antonini Knives of Italy are economical and practical for everyday use for home, work or leisure. The unique and patented blade locking mechanism on these knives can be activated using just one hand. The blade can be locked in the opened or closed position quickly and easily by moving the lever located in the solid brass bolster with your thumb. The Old Bear range is available in 5 sizes, with Olive Wood or Oiled Walnut handles and blades of stainless or carbon steel. A model to suit everyone, adn each timber handle is unique.
Note: This product has been manufactured by submitting raw materials to manual treatments and processes that make each knife unique, original and not standardised. Any irregularities on the knife surface are additional guarantees of its uniqueness and manual processes and they do not effect the knife function.
Carbon Steel Blade Care: Please note that this knife is made with carbon steel, not stainless steel. Carbon steel knives require extra care to prevent rusting and oxidation of the surface. Carbon steel knives should not be placed in a dishwasher or allowed to soak in a sink. After use we recommend cleaning the blade with a damp sponge or cloth and dry thoroughly. Some people go a step further and apply a light coating of vegetable oil to the blade’s surface. If your blade shows signs of rust, use some steel wool to remove it and then apply some oil to the blade. To keep the blade razor sharp, use a honing, or sharpening, steel. After years of use, the steel blade will develop a patina, a darkening which is desirable and an indication of its age.
